Getting Fit

Filed under: Singapore - katlinson @ 6:17 am

So lately I’ve been trying to get fit. My heffer ass has been working out more than ever, but I still don’t feel any healthier, let alone am I seeing any results. I have no idea what I should be eating… any suggestions, ideas, comments? Help a pudge ball out. =)

Atleast lately I’ve been having some sort of motivation. Me and the gang been going to KM8 on Sundays, which is this crazy beach party with international models. Tall, skinny, beautiful people. How’s that for some drive? Hah. Anyway, it’s good times… so if you’re ever in Singapore be sure to check it out!

us NON-MODELS goofing around in our our little corner haha.

My time here is coming to an end. Deadlines, finals, and moving out is going to be stress beyond words. This weekend is Hong Kong, which I’m super excited about. Hong Kong Disney here we come!

After finals, I’m going to travel a bit then head home right before the holidays. I’m a little scared to go back home. It’s going be weird trying to get back into the funk of things. I feel so out of the loop and I’m really going to miss my friends here. Oh well, life is ALL about change. Come June, graduation time and then off to new adventures. I’ve been looking into grad schools and I definitely am interested in a few programs. Wee!

Time to run. Literally.

P.S.
Happy Halloween. Get your tricks and treats, but be safe.

Tomb Raiding

Filed under: Travels - katlinson @ 8:16 am

This past weekend was an eye-opener. You know how when you were little and your mom would say, “Finish all your food, there are starving children around the world.” Well, you really do have to see it to believe it.

My latest adventure was to Cambodia. It seriously made me appreciate what I have in life. I was able to see just exactly what the term “third world” means. There were hardly any stores, homes, or paved streets. Most gas stations consisted of a small stand with glass bottles filled with gasoline.

Everywhere we went, there were kids. Some naked, some half dressed in ragged clothing. The sad thing was how trained they were to make money. As soon as they would spot a tourist, they would ask for your name and say, “Miss Kat… please buy. Don’t forget me.” It was almost like they weren’t kids anymore, but pestering sales people.

Anyway, the trip wasn’t all depressing, we had a great time. The first day we went to the floating village and saw lots of happy people. Their lives were poor, but simple. All day long the kids went to a floating school, swam, and played. We got to go fishing and ate lunch at one of the floating houses. Afterwards we saw the flooding forest.

The next morning we saw the sunrise at Angkor Wat. We saw most of the temples in the area. They were amazing. Angkor Wat is the largest religious center in the world. It’s where they taped Tomb Raider. We even got to take some “Angelina” pictures haha.

The rest of our time in Cambodia was spent eating and hanging out at our guest house. Although it wasn’t the cleanest place, it had the coolest bar on the roof… Sunset Bar. It had the nicest view of the sunset of the city, hence the name. Lots of tourists just hanging out, sharing stories, and watching DVDs. It was crazy, we watched Killing Fields our last night there. The movie itself was a trip, but to watch a movie about Cambodia while in Cambodia was nuts. Someone (I won’t name names) cried not once, but twice or was it thrice times? =X Cute. Anyway, the bar was great. Great food and 50 CENT ANGKOR BEER! Wooohooo!

I can definitely see why Angelina Jolie has citizenship in Cambodia. Being there just makes you want to help the people. Too bad I didn’t come home with my own little Maddox hehe.

And that’s that. Check out mi picturas. —> CLICKYCLICKY

Half-way Mark

Filed under: Travels - katlinson @ 9:09 am

Less than two months left. This experience has gone unbelievably fast. I’ve been so busy, maybe that’s why the days seem short. Hell, I only found time to write this blog because I’m in lecture haha =X

I never got to recap my Thailand trip. There’s just way too much to talk about so I’ll sum it up:

- cabaret show: hotties with bodies… and with weiners. i was jealous of guys’ bodies!

how many guys?
- got my phone stolen out of my backpack =(
- lots of shopping and eating: me and my dad ate worms! tasted like pork rinds haha

yum, protein!
- brown water canal: self-explanatory

kiddies dipping their feet!
- elephant trekking through the mountains

me and alva
- white water rafting: lost 2 raft members in the current… and got ‘em back. craziest thing I’ve ever done!

adrenaline rush!!!
- so many beautiful temples!

temple in Chiang Mai
- and the list goes on…

Once again, pictures are there to tell the story.

This weekend, Cambodia! Maybe I’ll come back with my own little Maddox haha.
